Personal Training Geelong: Personal Trainer Prices, Pack Options, and What You Actually Get
If you’ve ever looked at personal training prices and thought, “That sounds fine… but what do I actually get?” you’re not alone.
I’m Coach Kristen from Team McLean Fitness Club, and I’ve seen this a lot. People don’t mind paying for coaching. They mind paying and still feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or like they’re guessing what to do between sessions.
So let me break it down properly. Simple, clear, and with no fluff.
What you’re really paying for with personal training
Personal training is not just someone watching you do exercises.
You’re paying for a plan that fits your body and your life, plus the coaching to make sure you do it safely and consistently. In real terms, that usually means:
You get technique coaching so you feel confident (and don’t end up with sore knees, backs, or shoulders from doing things the hard way). You get a structure that progresses over time, instead of random workouts that feel hard but don’t lead anywhere. You get accountability, because most people don’t struggle with knowledge, they struggle with consistency.
And you get someone who adjusts the plan when life gets messy, because it always does.
Your first session is free, and here’s what I use it for
I don’t use a free first session to “sell you” anything. I use it to understand you.
We’ll talk through your goals, your current routine, injuries or limitations, what you’ve tried before, what’s worked, what hasn’t, and what you actually have time for. That conversation matters because the “best plan” on paper is useless if it doesn’t fit your week.
By the end, you’ll have clarity on the next step. Not pressure.
The $130 Introduction Pack (and why it’s the best start for most people)
If you’re new, returning after time off, feeling nervous, or you just want to start properly, this is the option I recommend most often.
The Introduction Pack is $130 and includes 2 45 minute sessions:
- Body measurements and fitness testing
This gives us a baseline. Not to judge you. Just to track real progress. And the Technique session
This is where we set you up to move well and feel safe. It’s also where confidence starts. - Nutrition discussion and meal planning guides
Nothing extreme. Just practical foundations that you can actually stick to.
There’s also an optional personalised body analysis add-on available. Some people love having extra data and structure. Others don’t need it early on. I keep it optional so you’re not paying for things you won’t use.
30-minute PT vs 45-minute PT: which one should you choose?
This is one of the biggest decision points, so I’ll make it easy.
30-minute PT sessions
These are perfect if you’re busy but you still want structure, coaching, and accountability.
If you’ve got a packed week, a 30-minute session can be the difference between doing something consistently and doing nothing at all. Short sessions done regularly beat long sessions you keep cancelling.
45-minute PT sessions
These are great if you want a little more time for coaching, strength work, and building skills without feeling rushed.
If you like a more supported pace, extra technique work, or you’re working toward strength goals, the 45-minute option gives us more room.
Weekly options vs 10-packs: structure or flexibility?
Some people thrive on a weekly routine. Others need flexibility because work, kids, shift cycles, travel, or life just doesn’t run like clockwork.
Weekly sessions
Weekly PT is for you if you want a steady rhythm and you know that having a set slot will keep you consistent.
10-pack options
If you want flexibility without losing momentum, 10-packs are a great fit.
Personal Training 30 Minutes: 10 Pack is $473.
Personal Training 45 Minutes: 10 Pack is $638.
Both need bookings and must be used within 3 months.
That 3-month window matters because results come from momentum. Spreading sessions too far apart is where people stall.
Can PT include different training styles?
Yes. I don’t lock everyone into the same template.
Depending on your goals and what you enjoy, we can build sessions around strength and conditioning, boxing elements, Metafit-style conditioning, or reformer-based work (depending on availability and bookings).
The point is to build a plan you’ll stick to. If you dread it, you won’t do it.
1:2 training: when training with a mate works really well
If you’ve got a friend, partner, or co-worker with a similar schedule and similar goals, 1:2 personal training can be a brilliant option.
You still get coaching and structure, but you also get extra accountability because you’re doing it together. It’s often more enjoyable, and for some people, that’s the missing ingredient.
If your goals are totally different, or one of you is brand new while the other is experienced, 1:1 is usually the better fit. I can guide you on that quickly.
What you “actually get” that makes the difference
Here’s what I think matters most, because it’s what keeps people progressing.
You’ll have progress checks and measurements so you’re not guessing whether things are working. You’ll get technique coaching so you train safely and feel confident, especially early on. You’ll get nutrition support that focuses on realistic foundations, not perfection or extremes. And you’ll be in a boutique environment that’s supportive and beginner-friendly, not intimidating.
That combination is what helps people stay consistent long enough to actually see change.
A simple cheat sheet to choose your best option
If you want the quickest way to decide, start here.
If you’re new, nervous, or want to start properly, begin with the $130 Introduction Pack.
If you’re time-poor and want something realistic, choose 30-minute PT.
If you want more coaching time each visit, choose 45-minute PT.
If your schedule is unpredictable, go with a 10-pack.
If you’ll train more consistently with a mate, ask about 1:2 training.
Common questions I get
Is 30 minutes really enough?
Yes, if it’s consistent and coached properly.
Do I need to be fit before I start?
No. You start where you are. That’s the point.
Will I be pushed too hard?
You’ll be challenged, but in a way that builds confidence. I want you leaving proud, not wrecked.
How soon will I notice results?
Most people notice energy and confidence first. Body changes follow when consistency and nutrition basics are in place. The exact timeline depends on your starting point and your routine, but the process is always the same: show up, build foundations, progress steadily.
